A Model School is operated in association with a university, college, or other teacher education institution and used for the training of future teachers, educational experimentation, educational research, and professional development. A university model school is also known as a lab school which is operated by a university or college to provide students practical experiences and promote teaching, research and community service. It is expected to model organization and methods of teaching, and also be used by the university lecturers to assess the student-teacher as they teach.
